Board of Directors

Big Brothers of Sarnia-Lambton operates under a 10 member volunteer Board of Directors who portray a good cross-section of our community.  The Board of Directors is elected by the members of the agency at the Annual General Meeting held in June of each year. Members are up for re-election after serving a two-year term.

Responsibilities of the Board include:

  • setting policy

  • assuring adequate funding

  • recruiting new Board volunteers when required

  • supervising the Executive Director, who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the agency and staff

Each Board member is required to take an active part in at least one committee. Other volunteers may be on a committee without being a member of the Board of Directors.
