Fundraising Committees All fundraising committees are
headed by a Board Member who acts as chairperson.
Fundraising committees are responsible for raising funds for
the agency, as determined by the annual budget.
These committees are formed and function as required for the
various events. There
are several primary fundraising activities throughout the year, as
listed below. ___________________________ Saturday,
February 27th, 2010 Held early each year at the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club, this bonspiel is a major fundraiser for the agency. Headed by a Board Member and run by volunteers, the project brings together lots of four-member teams of curlers in a one-day bonspiel to compete for the coveted trophy and many prizes while, at the same time, financially supporting the work of Big Brothers by means of an entry fee. The fee of $150/per person is comprised of donations raised from friends and associates. Contributions are tax-deductible. Online fundraising is easy!! Ask us how. The bonspiel is a fun-filled day of friendly competition for novice and experienced curlers alike. A complimentary lunch is provided. Non-curlers are encouraged to participate and have the opportunity to participate in a How to Curl Without Killing Yourself or Others workshop on the morning of the bonspiel". Sponsorships available! Call Tanya at 519 336 0460 ___________________________________ ___________________________________ Bingo The agency runs three to four bingos per month.
Several Board members and the Executive Director, plus
volunteers comprise this committee. Bingo volunteers must be accredited or associate members of
Big Brothers of Sarnia-Lambton. Accredited members are Big Brother
volunteers and mothers/guardians of Little Brothers. Alcohol & Gaming Commission rules for bingo volunteers dictate
that Associate members must volunteer some time to other than
Bingo activities. |
